Latitudefive° is a strategy and investment consultancy with offices both in London and Abidjan. The company mainly operates within the mining industry and its related services. Latitudefive°’s presence in Western Africa is strong, as indicated by its name, Abidjan being located on the fifth parallel. In 2013 it commissioned atelier à propos to fully rethink its visual identity, the main issue being to have it reflect simultaneously West Africa and the Western World, where the company’s offices are located.latitudefive°, as opposed to its competitors, holds an office in West Africa, close to its investments. Atelier à propos decided to illustrate both latitudefive°’s location in West Africa and the main business it operates in, the mining sector, by taking its inspiration from Ivorian landscapes: coast, lagoons and deserts. The reference to Africa through patterns and landscapes is offset by the logo set in Helvetica, a true archetype of modern Western typography drawn by Max Miedinger in 1957.
